Underwear is a garment that is close to human skin, so the choice of fabric is particularly important. Especially for sensitive or diseased skin, if the underwear fabric is not properly selected, it may cause harm to the human body.
The fabric is woven from yarn and the yarn is composed of fibers. Therefore, the characteristics of the fabric are closely related to the fibers that make up the fabric. In general, fibers are divided into natural fibers and chemical fibers. Natural fibers include cotton, hemp, silk, wool and so on. Chemical fibers include recycled fibers and synthetic fibers. The recycled fiber has viscose fiber, acetate fiber and so on. Synthetic fiber has polyester wheel, acrylic fiber, nylon and so on. At present, traditional underwear fabrics are mostly made of cotton, silk, hemp, viscose, polyester, nylon yarn, nylon filament, nylon fabric and so on.
Among the natural fibers, cotton, silk and hemp are very hygroscopic and breathable, and are ideal underwear fabrics. However, natural fibers have poor shape retention and stretchability. By blending natural fibers with chemical fibers, using Proper blending ratio, or using different fibers in different parts of the fabric, the effect of the two kinds of fibers can be mutually beneficial. Therefore, there are many choices of underwear fabrics, such as durable nylon fabric, cool feeling nylon yarn, , stretch nylon yarn for underwear, nylon fabric for underwear and so on. For example, the bra cup is made of hygroscopic cotton, while the sideband is made of elastic chemical fiber fabric. At present, many underwears are designed in double layers. The layer close to the skin is made of natural fiber, and the layer on the surface is made of beautiful chemical fiber lace, which is both beautiful and comfortable.
There are two effective methods to identify fabric when selecting underwear. One is sensory recognition method, the other is sign recognition method.
Sensory Recognition Method
Sensory recognition needs some experience, but it is not difficult to achieve. As long as the usual shopping mall intentionally touches various fabrics, over time there will be gains. The fiber can be roughly distinguished from the following four aspects.
(1) Handfeel: Soft fiber are silk, viscose and nylon.
(2) Weight: Nylon, acrylic and polypropylene fibers are lighter than silk. Cotton, hemp, viscose and rich fibers are heavier than silk. Vinylon, wool, vinegar and polyester fibers are similar to silk weight.
(3) Strength: The weaker fibers are viscose, vinegar and wool. The stronger fibers are silk, cotton, hemp, synthetic fibers, etc. The fibers whose strength obviously decreases after wetting are protein fibers, viscose fibers and copper-ammonia fibers.
(4) Extension length: When stretching by hand, cotton and hemp are the fibers with smaller elongation, while silk, viscose, rich fibers and most synthetic fibers are the moderate fibers.
(5) Distinguish various fibers by perception and feel.
Cotton is soft and soft, with small elasticity and easy to wrinkle.
Linen feels rough and hard, often with defects.
The silk is shiny, soft and light, and there is a rustling sound when it is pinched, which has a cool feeling.
Wool is flexible, soft luster, warm feel, not easy to wrinkle.
Polyester has good elasticity, smoothness, high strength, stiffness and cool feeling.
Nylon is not easy to break, elastic, smooth, light texture, not as soft as silk.
Vinylon is similar to cotton. Its gloss is dark. It is not as soft and resilient as cotton and wrinkle easily.
Acrylic fiber is good in protection, strong in strength, lighter than cotton, and has a soft and fluffy feel.
Viscose fiber is softer than cotton. Their surface gloss is stronger than cotton, but its fastness is not good.
Sign Recognition Method
The limitation of the sensory method is that it is coarser and the application surface is not wide. It is powerless for synthetic fibers and blended fabrics. If it is a brand underwear, you can directly understand the fabric composition of the underwear through the signboard. These signs can only be hung by the inspection of the textile quality inspection agency and are authoritative. Generally, there are two contents on the label, one is the fiber name, and the other is the fiber content which is generally expressed as a percentage.
